Ahmad Elhawli- A Man Who Created His Own Opportunities

They say, “The best way to predict the future is to CREATE IT.” That’s what Ahmad Elhawli did. After facing enormous hurdles on his way to success, Ahmad, never lose the hope, instead, his eagerness of succeeding in marketing became the reason for his achievements.

A Journey that Began With a Failure

Behind a successful man, there are many unsuccessful years. Like every high school pass out boy, Ahmad too had a dream of doing something big but figuring out what he actually wanted to do was paramount. Nevertheless, he found a greater interest in social media sites like MySpace, Bebo, Facebook, and many others. This eventually gave him a craving for knowing how he can use the internet to earn money.

A wish to no to work under anyone became the reason behind him to go into Accounting at Victoria University. His hard work and strive to make a difference lead him to get the internship at an accounting firm in the second year of the course only.

Soon, he figured out that this is not what he planned to do for the rest of the life and hence started looking for other income sources whilst in university.

Every great business is built on friendship this became true for Ahmad when he helped his trader friends with their business. His friends were looking for an affordable developer to get done with their website. Ahmad started his search for affordable and talented developers and his fate take him to the one named Glen Waverly who agreed to create 10-15 websites for his friends.




But, still, there was something that Ahmad was missing. He was still not sure about the forte in which he can see himself working for the whole life.

To complement his desire -to be his own boss, he took a decision to transfer to a business school. As running a self-owned organization was his dream, he chose management as major. Either it was Ahmad’s luck or the hard work that he got an offer for a commission based sales opportunity by a company named Flip Apparel, in the first year only.  

As his extreme interest in boxing, he got this bright idea of opening his own boxing line under the pretext of flip boxing. He implemented this idea by having a partnership between himself and the Flip Apparel where they morphed into a single entity.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t his best shot! Soon, the business failed due to difficulty in finding the suitable manufacturer that was going to provide the quality product. As the quality of the product has always been the vital requirement, the common entrepreneurial mistakes due to insufficient capital also became the reason for the failure.   

The less experience, insufficient knowledge of the business world, no money, no sponsors, and many other issues became the reason for not getting the job done perfectly. A friend of Ahmad suggested him to grab the opportunity of a body corporate manager and for that; Ahmad took a year off from the university to become a body manager.

At the very moment when Ahmad was pursuing his job of body corporate manager, his mother insisted him to continue his studies again which Ahmad agreed to do. The family daycare was in trend at that time, so, Ahmad thought that it could be the best idea to make the career in, after completing his graduation. Luckily, he got the license for his business of family daycare and started new door of opportunities.   

Along with doing his business, he was also active on social media to find a way to promote his business and services through it. Then he started to invite people to join him and just in 2 months, many people show up and Ahmad successfully earned about $1000 in those two months.

Somehow, Ahmad Elhawli realized that this is what he always wanted to do. He found peace, satisfaction, and passion for digital marketing. To make his skills more strong he did a professional digital marketing course from Australian Institute of Marketing.

He asked a question from one of his lecturers named Beth Powell “what do I do to get ahead of the pack, and how do I learn the ins and outs of this industry?”  The content writing was her answer, which became a ray of light into Ahmad’s life.

After doing a lot of research, he came across something called the inbound marketing. By taking whatever he earned in the past few years and the blessings of his parents, he headed towards America to get a deep knowledge of inbound marketing. He there dedicated 6 months for learning inbound marketing in depth and spend his days and nights to become an inbound certified.

Finding the Right Career Feels Like COMING HOME

In 2014, he sold his family daycare business for $200K and devoted himself to implement his knowledge about inbound marketing. He started with a medium finance firm where he was given a position-marketing executive. He knew this was the time to utilize all his knowledge and fortunately doubled the firm’s profit in a very short period.

Ahmad Elhawli was still in touch with his boxing training and wanted to promote his own stuff. His passion towards boxing brought the fate of the biggest boxing brand in the world- Ringside boxing hired him for a licensed job of promoting the brand in Australia and New Zealand.

Of course, he grasped this break and started working days as a marketing executive and nights as a boxing promoter. The success was just a step away from that something unexpected. The website crashed and its developers didn’t show up for days. God saw his hard work and out of nowhere, the developers finally resolved the issue.

The bad days ended and the company again started getting its best position in the market again. It was his perfection in work that he got nominated in panelist at the HubSpot growth show in Melbourne at Federation Square. Ahmad also got interviewed by the state of the inbound report and in the mid of 2015, he gave up his full-time job as he started consulting as a digital marketer.


As the Ringside Boxing, business was doing well. He wanted to take it to the next level but the margin offered by the retailers was quite big. After approaching enormous retailers, one of his good friends fixed his meeting with an entrepreneur who was looking for a digital marketing consultant to sell their half of the rehab center but was held by the marketing firm. In addition, for doing that, they were offered Ahmad a big amount.

Ahmad agreed and built his marketing department to ensure that even if the current marketing firm defaulted on its agreement, that used to generate 2 million dollars in sales a month, they had a plan in place to compensate for their lack of operations.

Their job was also finding the hole in the operations and giving a fruitful suggestion for making fixing the faults. This project became an excellent opportunity for Ahmad as he has to know about the procedure included in building an aggregator site and true to form. Like every beginner, Ahmad faced some issues but overcome them quickly.

Due to some family emergency, he had to go back home which perceptibly filled his heart with disappointments. He tried to contact the retailer again for Ringside Australia but it was all vain. He got no response from the other end, but somebody has said the true “whatever happens, happens for the good” as this incident became the reason for his new mission.
