1) Write Kick-Ass Page Titles Using Long-Tail Phrases/Keywords
If you want to rank higher in google results, then It’s important to use Long-Tail keywords in your Post Titles. If you think its bad idea to use Long-Tail keywords for page titles then you are wrong. In the above pic, you can see the importance of Long-Tail Keywords.
But Before I tell you ”how to use long-tail keywords” Let me tell you What is Long-Tail Keywords & How they can help you to boost your blog traffic?
Long-Tail Keywords are the longer & more specific phrases than broad/head Keywords used for content marketing which are likely to attract more customers (visitors).
Let me assume that I launch a new blog.In the beginning, It will be very difficult for me to rank higher for headwords on search Engine. For example if I plan to write an article on ‘Boost Your Blog Traffic’ then I will research for this phrases on google & what I will see is ‘Competition’ & after checking the competition I can understand that It’s nearly impossible to compete them, therefore, I will use the different keywords. For example ” Boost Blog Traffic in 7Days, 11 effective way to boost your blog traffic E.t.c.
Here are few On-Page SEO techniques to write Kick-Ass Page Titles.
Research Via GoogleAdWords
Google AdWords is a free tool provided by google to find keywords for your content.
Here I do research for keyword ”SEO” & I can notice competition for Keyword is very high therefore it will take much time for me to rank for this keyword.
Now my strategy is to find more relevance keywords for my post title so that I can rank higher on google. Therefore in the ‘Keyword Ideas’ section I will take a look at other keywords with medium/low competition & after choosing few keywords (according to my need) I will combine them & will give my own twist in it.
With this way, I Can rank higher for the less competitive keyword like ”Seo Tips & Tricks” & by using two keywords from the list I can come up with a better title.
PS- You Can use Paid Tools Like SEMRush & Longtail Pro for better research.
2) Article Length
After Writing a Kick-Ass title for you post It’s the time to make your article worth reading. This is how you gonna engage your customers/Visitors.
Before you start writing an article, you need to keep ‘SEO Factors’ in you mind which says longer the article better the results. But sometimes few newbie bloggers got puzzled about an Article Length. They ask themselves’How Longer This Article Should Be’? There are few results which will clear you doubt about this Topic
According To search-demand-curve(2500) words often rank higher in search engine results.
According to a survey, an Ideal post is a post which can be read in 7 Minutes
Still, Confuse? Well According to my Experience you an article should contain minimum 500 words. There are number of factors that affect your article length
1. Post Title- If you are writing an article on ”How-To” tutorial then you should extend the length of your article for better results.Because on net competition between How-To article is more than too much.
2. The article’s Competition– It is important to analyze the data kept by your competitors in their articles because they ranking on the first page for a reason. So it is Important to follow their ‘words’ strategy. If they are ranked on the first page by writing an article of length 1000 words. Then it’s better to keep your article Near-About 1000 Words.
3. Your Blog’s Niche – yes, this is right that your blog niche affects your Posts length.A Blog related to tech or Tips & Tricks can easily end their articles between 500 to 800 Words, but blogs on SEO & Blog Tips niche takes much effort to rank higher on search pages.Their articles can vary from 1000-8000 words.
3) Meta Description
Meta Description has n’t that great impact on SearchEngines (Officially said by Google). But By writing descriptive meta description, you can improve you CTR (Click-Through-Rate) & apart from this meta description explains your whole post which help bloggers to attract more visitors. So It’s important to describe you post’s meta description in a good manner.
It has to be descriptive up to 150 characters. It’s an opportunity for a blogger to write a well-defined description for an article & convenience the searchers to visit their blog.
So, How To Write a Killer Meta-Description for an Article?
Be Simple but Impressive- It’s important to write meta-description in a simple way.Don’t put any link in meta-description as well Google doesn’t allow to put quotation marks so It’s important to don’t use them too.
Right Words- According to Neil Patel, The keywords may not matter for search engines, but they do matter for users. In order to be compelled to click, the user needs to see relevant words. These words should be associated with his or her query. The right words in the right places make the difference between an SERP entry that gets overlooked, and an SERP entry that gets a click.
Proper Length of Meta-Description- The maximum length accepted for Meta description is up to 156 words. Therefore, it’s very important to keep the length b/w 156 words otherwise google will truncate it.
4) Meta-Tags- Do They Matters Anymore?
Meta-Tags are snippets of text which defines a page’s content.Meta-Tags don’t appear in real time web-page because they exist in the page’s code only.
They are placed in between the<head></head> tags and look like this:
<meta name=”keywords” content=”entrepreneur, entrepreneurship, business, marketing, etc”/>
Do Meta-Tags Impact SEO?
Well, they don’t have that much impact on Google & other search engines. But, After my Research, I found that Google does support few others ”Meta’-Tags”.
What Google Have To Say About Meta-Tags?
Q: Does Google ever use the “keywords” meta tag in its web search ranking?
A: In a word, no. Google does sell a Google Search Appliance, and that product has the ability to match meta tags, which could include the keywords meta tag. But that’s an enterprise search appliance that is completely separate from our main web search. Our web search (the well-known search at Google.com that hundreds of millions of people use each day) disregards keyword metatags completely. They simply don’t have any effect in our search ranking at present.
Q: Why doesn’t Google use the keywords meta tag?
A: About a decade ago, search engines judged pages only on the content of web pages, not any so-called “off-page” factors such as the links pointing to a web page. In those days, keyword meta tags quickly became an area where someone could stuff often-irrelevant keywords without typical visitors ever seeing those keywords. Because the keywords meta tag was so often abused, many years ago Google began disregarding the keywords meta tag.
Q: Does this mean that Google ignores all meta tags?
A: No, Google does support several other meta tags. This meta tags page documents more info on several meta tags that we do use. For example, we do sometimes use the “description” meta tag as the text for our search results snippets, as this screen shot shows:
Q: Does this mean that Google will always ignore the keywords meta tag?
A: It’s possible that Google could use this information in the future, but it’s unlikely. Google has ignored the keywords meta tag for years and currently we see no need to change that policy.
